Anyone arriving in Harrachov sees them at once: the ski jumping hills on Čertova hora define the skyline. The largest is one of the few ski flying hills in the world – world records have been set here and Ski Flying World Championships held. For visitors the complex is a destination in any season, and from Hotel Šedý Vlk it is only a few minutes’ walk.

Ski jumping history in Harrachov
Jumping in Harrachov goes back to the 1920s. Over the decades the complex on Čertova hora grew into a set of hills of different sizes – from youth hills to the ski flying hill, where distances beyond 200 metres have been flown. World Cup events and Ski Flying World Championships made the town famous in the ski jumping world.
Visiting: experience the scale
The complex is freely accessible from outside. Even from the foot of the ski flying hill it is clear why ski flying is a discipline of its own. Depending on the season you can climb to the viewpoint or take the chairlift up Čertova hora – at the top you have views over Harrachov, the Krkonoše and Jizera Mountains and easy trails back down into the valley.

Jumps, slope and hotel: all on one mountain
The special thing about Harrachov is that the jumps, the ski resort and the hotel share the same mountain. Hotel Šedý Vlk stands directly on the slope, the resort starts at the door, and you reach the hill complex in a short walk. More on winter under Harrachov ski resort guide and skiing in Harrachov.
