Dog-friendly hotel in the Krkonoše Mountains: Harrachov with trails right outside the door

Published by: 04.11.2026

A holiday with your dog means long trails, water to splash in, little traffic and a hotel that does not treat your four-legged friend as a problem. Harrachov in the western Krkonoše Mountains offers exactly that – forest and river trails right outside the door, a quiet off-season and, at Hotel Šedý Vlk, a place where small dogs up to 10 kg are welcome.

Dogs at Hotel Šedý Vlk

You can bring small dogs up to 10 kg for a fee of CZK 500 per stay. Please mention your dog when booking so we can reserve a suitable room. For hygiene reasons dogs are not allowed in the wellness area with the pool and sauna – while you relax there, your dog stays in the room.

Trails with your dog from the hotel

  • Mumlava Waterfalls: a wide riverside path, water to cool off in, hardly any climb – the perfect dog walk.
  • Mumlava valley: forest tracks further up the valley, quiet and shady.
  • Rýžoviště: meadows above town with views, ideal for an evening loop.
  • Ridge trails: for fit dogs and owners, with the chairlift (dogs allowed – please ask at the ticket office).

Please note: Harrachov lies on the edge of the Krkonoše National Park (KRNAP). Dogs must be kept on a lead there, and some core zones are closed to dogs – the signs are clear. All routes under hiking trails from Harrachov.

The best time for a holiday with your dog

Spring, early summer and autumn: the trails are empty, the temperatures pleasant, and there is space in town. In high summer the river valleys offer shade and water. In winter the winter walking trails are a good alternative to the cross-country tracks, where dogs are not welcome.
