Harrachov is a good base for cycling in the western Krkonoše Mountains: forest tracks through the woods, marked cycle routes, mountain-bike trails with real climbs, and rides across to the Jizera Mountains or Poland. At Hotel Šedý Vlk you store the bike safely, jump into the pool and sit down to dinner – which is already included.

Rides for leisure cyclists and families
The forest tracks in the Mumlava valley and around Rýžoviště are wide, mostly gently rising and fine with children. A popular loop runs to the Mumlava Waterfalls and back across the meadows above town with views of the ski jumps. E-bikes can be hired in town – which makes the climbs to the ridge relaxed too.
Mountain biking: towards the ridge and the Jizera Mountains
Sporty riders take the climbs up Čertova hora or follow the forest roads towards the ridge. West of Harrachov the Jizera Mountains begin, with their dense network of cycle routes and long descents. Czech cycle routes are marked in yellow and numbered; maps are available at reception and in town.

Across the border to Poland
From the hotel it is only a few kilometres to the Jakuszyce border crossing. Beyond it the Polish trail network around Szklarska Poręba begins – with waterfalls, viewpoints and good cafés. A fine half-day ride, also by e-bike. More under cross-country skiing in Harrachov and Jakuszyce.
After the ride: pool, sauna, dinner
The heated pool with a relaxation zone is included, and the private Finnish sauna is booked at reception – ideal for tired legs. Breakfast and dinner are part of the half-board, so you will not have to get back on the bike in the evening. Bikes are stored safely at the hotel.
